Geraldine Georges is a young belgian illustrator/ photographer and graphic designer that uses a mixture of handmade and digital techniques using a blend of illustration and photography to create imaginative pieces of abstract work. Georges uses mainly photographs of females in her work and uses her fashion influences to cut up the photograph and add her own style onto the photograph extending the female model. She uses handmade and digital elements in her work but tries to keep her fashion collages simple and tries not to include to much photoshop effects.
After graduating from the
Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels GĂ©raldine worked as a graphic designer in
various advertising agencies for 7 years. Towards the end of 2006, she started
to work as a freelance illustrator. However Georges was not leaving behind the
graphic design world but was able to see & bring some graphic design
elements into her illustrations. Through her graphic design year and as a
freelancer Georges did alot of work for many companies such as loreal,
schweppes, fiesta. Georges has also has had lots of press such as being in
magazines such as 'I heart Art', 'A Conceptual Magazine', 'Victoire' etc, and
also had her work shown in the 'New York Times' in 2008 for an article called
'New Years Cocktail'.

I really like Geraldine Georges work because of how neat and modern her fashion collages are and how she's incorporated/ blended the use of handmade and digital. I also really like how Georges cuts of parts of the photograph of the model and adds her own extension to the women which really shows her imagination and also could show her emotion at the time when creating it because all of her work is different in what lines, shapes and other techniques/ materials she uses.
This is some of Georges work from her portfolio which I really like and got inspirations from when creating my own:
