Light Painting Experiments

These our my first light painting experiments using light pens, dark room, DSLR camera (Canon EOS 400D) and a tripod. I worked in a group with Farhan and Dee Kay.

This was one of our first testers with the light pens. we used both coloured lights (red & white) and tried to draw different patterns. I really like how the beams of the red laser are clear in this photo.

This was one of our first photographs using a subject (model) to work around. I then used the white light and shined it in front and behind of the subject (Farhan). When shining the light in front of Farhan i tried to illuminate his face.

For this light photo we experimented with red light from the lamps in the darkroom. Dee Kay used this light to make different patterns in front of himself.

  1. OK! I think you may need to trim this down a bit, or quite a lot! Nice to see but a bit too much. When you have trimmed it down consider recording: 1 WHAT?:what is the subject, the context 2. HOW? what camera or film or materials, settings, technical data 3 WHY? the concepts, the ideas behind the experiment - your personal response, did it work? do you like it?
